Nitrogen-fixing Bacteria and Trends in Agricultural Applications
    (Graphicsite, 2023-09-26) Junjarus Sermsathanaswadi
Bacteria that can increase the number of nutrients in the soil are important to plants, especially nitrogen-fixing bacteria that fix atmospheric nitrogen and change into the form that plants can use. In recent years, the use of nitrogen-fixing bacteria in agriculture has received a lot of attention because it offers an economically attractive and environmentally friendly method. Many species of nitrogen-fixing bacteria, symbiotic and non-symbiotic, that promote plant growth are used on a regular basis in order to improve crop yields. In addition to agricultural benefits, there are also potential benefits for environmental applications. Many nitrogenfixing bacteria which grow and multiply within plant tissues are called endophytes. They illustrate the tight association with the plant tissues without causing damage. Therefore, different types of endophytes which produce plant growth hormone provide benefit for many plants.

Promoting Physical Activity among Buddhist Monks: The Role of Nurse
(Graphicsite, 2023-09-26) Wiwat Laochai; Doungnetre Thummakul; Nongluck Jiraprapapong
Buddhist monks suffer from chronic illnesses that could be prevented or delayed if they engaged in proper physical activity. Because a monk’s lifestyle differs from a normal Buddhist, physical activity maybe neglected. Physical activity is usage of energy by using muscles in various parts of the body. If the body does not completely metabolize excess fat, it will result in accumulation of fat. Nurses have an important role in promoting physical activity among Buddhist monks, which will result in better health for monks, prevention of complications of diseases and reduce risk of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease, hyperlipidemia, obesity, heart disease, cancer and osteoporosis, which is usually caused by monks’ lack of physical activity. Buddhist monks have religious disciplines and duties that make their life style differ from normal citizens. This article shows the role of nurses in promoting physical activity among Buddhist monks that doesn’t go against monks’ discipline; consisting of evaluation of physical activity using Global physical activity questionnaire, International physical activity questionnaire, calculation of energy usage (Metabolic Equivalent: MET), different ways for monks to exercise such as fast walking, Taichi-Qigong, Yoga and concentration activity, including the spread of awareness to monks and nurses to support and design physical activity program that is adequate and suitable for monks. If nurses become more active and emphasize this topic more, there will be more projects and programs that promotes physical activities among monks to improve monks’ physical well-being.

Aphrodisiac Food Ingredients from the Twelve Thai Ancient Formulary Books of Police Captain Bhiam Bunyachot
(Graphicsite, 2023-09-26) Vadhana Jayathavaj; Ubol Chuensumran
An aphrodisiac is defined as any food or drug that arouses the sexual instinct, induces venereal desire and increases pleasure and performance. There are many commercial advertisements related to herbal supplements that claim to have an aphrodisiac property. But the claims almost always come from the long-standing belief or traditional wisdom (Chinese or Ayurveda) with no scientific support. To support “food is medicine”, the aphrodisiac herbs from Thai ancient drugs were explored from private formulary books. The properties of aphrodisiac formulas in the formulary texts were classified into four groups as follows: 1) anti-aging, 2) physical strength and power, 3) healthy sex, and 4) relief from erectile dysfunction. The herbs that appears in Thai foods in everyday life with claimed medication results from the formulary textbooks were identified. They were 49 food ingredients from 143 herbs presented in 62 aphrodisiac formulas. The herbs with herbal aphrodisiac groups (1 and 2 and 3 and 4) were ranked by the number of times they appeared thusly; Pepper, Galingale (Finger root), Ginger, Long pepper, and Nutmeg. The paper correlates the herbal foods traditionally used aphrodisiacs with recent scientific validation for the management of sexual health.

Health Behaviors and Patients with Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) : Role of Self-efficacy
(Graphicsite, 2023-09-26) Chayanis Chobarunsitti; Sattha Prakobchai
Cardiac disease is a major risk of mortality and morbidity globally. Patient with Coronary artery diseases are more likely than other chronic disease in poor health behavior either pre-treatment or post-treatment. Even though cardiac patients tried to seek the ways to promote their health, they might face with the difficulties to change the behavior. Numerous studies showed that self-efficacy plays a crucial role as a buffer to perform activity as reflect personal beliefs and confidence. We synthesize the evidences on self-efficacy and health behavior regarding smoking behavior, alcohol consumption, eating behavior, physical activity or exercise behavior and stress management. We found that most of the researchers successfully applied self-efficacy to promote physical activity or exercise among patients with coronary artery disease in short term period.Nurses should assess functional status and provide health education to promote well-being and encourage patients to perform and maintain their capability on health-promoting behaviors.

Empowering Preparation for Old Age: An Application of the SDU Health Care Project
(Graphicsite, 2023-09-26) Renu Kwanyuen; Somjit Niputhuttapong
This article aims to explore the concepts of empowerment in personal preparation for middle and late adults as well as to describe the application of empowerment within the SDU health project as an empowerment mechanism. Empowerment might play as mediator to enhance an optimal preparation for old age in a completely age society among staffs at Suan Dusit University. The results showed that the empowerment to prepare for old age consists of five aspects: physical, emotional, economic, social and housing and includes the processes of selfassessment, problem identification, problem analysis, planning and implementation, which help to improve individuals’ awareness and preparation for old age, leading to active aging in an era of rapid change in which technology has become a part of people’s daily lives.

Utilization of Natural Polymer Wall Materials in Strategies for Health-Effective Lycopene Encapsulation
(Graphicsite, 2023-12-18) Yotsinee Huadong; Tita Foophow; Thitinat Sukonket; Weerachon Phoohinkong
Natural phytochemical carotenoids, pivotal for human health, enhance wellness, and exhibits anti-aging properties. Lycopene, distinguished by exceptional antioxidant properties, offers protection against oxidative stress. Studied extensively for its potential in medical interventions, it mitigates the risk of diseases like arteriosclerosis and breast cancer. However, lycopene's high antioxidant activity makes it prone to degradation from environmental stresses like oxygen and light, impacting processing and storage. Its water and ethanol insolubility contribute to poor bioavailability. Encapsulation technology addresses these challenges, gaining interest for health benefits in functional foods and cosmeceutical products. The process of lycopene encapsulation, with a specific focus on the selection of diverse wall materials, has demonstrated a substantial impact on both the physical and functional attributes of the encapsulated lycopene within natural biomaterials employed for biomedicine. Natural polymers assume a crucial role in the advancement of biomedicine, nutraceuticals and the functional food industry, particularly in the encapsulation of natural active compounds such as lycopene. Consequently, there is a discernible trend towards the extensive utilization of natural polymers. The choice of a suitable wall material is of paramount importance as it significantly determines the efficacy and success of the encapsulation process. The utilization of natural polymer wall materials presents potential strategies for health-effective lycopene encapsulation. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of lycopene encapsulation, specifically focusing on polysaccharides and proteins, including oligosaccharides and cyclodextrin. The incorporation of these natural polymers in lycopene encapsulation enhances the bioavailability and stability of lycopene, rendering it suitable for diverse biomedical and nutritional applications.

Physical Activity and Heart Rate Variability Among Middle Age to Older Adults with Heart Failure: The State of Science
(Graphicsite, 2024-04-30) Sattha Prakobchai; Kijja Suwan; Manida Dechakul
Physical activity or exercise relates to the physiological responses especially in heart rate variability (HRV). HRV is a predictor of prognosis of heart failure and cardiac functions. However, little is known about the relationship of physical activity, HRV improvement and autonomic regulation in heart failure of older adults. The purpose of this state of science review is to synthesize the evidence that shows the effects of physical activity or exercise, HRV and physiological outcomes. The literature searched includes 12 studies from four electronic databases (PsycInfo, Pubmed, Scopus and CINAHL). The findings revealed that physical activity or exercise will improve HRV. This review showed that physical activity improves cardiac autonomic function (nerohormornal activation, sympathetovocal balance, baroreceptor reflex) and inhibits alpha 2 antagonist to improve HR reserve and RR intervals and prevent premature ventricular contraction (PVC). However, the level of physical activity and intensity are not clear. Tailored interventions or community-based programs will be effective in order to maintain physical activity and functional outcomes. A higher HRV is related to the functional capacity compared to the lower. Therefore, healthcare providers should regularly assess heart rate variability among heart failure patients to determine the threshold and recovery for physical functioning in regards to the stress form physical activity.

Transformation for Environmental Schools: Opportunities and Challenges
(Graphicsite, 2024-11-18) Montol Suwanprapha; Sirote Pholpuntin; Sukhum Chaleysub; Jira Jitsupa
This study analyzes the opportunities and challenges in establishing graduate-level environmental schools to address increasingly complex and severe environmental crises, particularly the impacts of global climate change, which has increased by 1.1°C since the pre-industrial era and is likely to reach 1.5°C by the 2030s without urgent action. The study reveals five key opportunities: responding to labor market demands, integrating interdisciplinary knowledge, leveraging digital technologies, fostering green innovations, and supporting sustainable development goals. Conversely, seven primary challenges are identified: designing curricula that encompass complex environmental issues, balancing theory and practice, adapting to rapid changes, managing resources, building cross-sector partnerships, cultivating diverse skill sets in students, and fostering environmental consciousness. The study emphasizes the importance of developing flexible curricula and integrating practical learning experiences. This study contributes significantly to the ongoing discourse on environmental education and provides insights for policymakers and educational institutions in developing effective environmental schools for the future. The findings underscore the potential of environmental schools to create positive societal and environmental impacts by developing human resources capable of navigating future social and environmental transitions.

    English for Research Writing
    (Graphicsite, 2023-05-07) Woravit Kitjaroenpaiboon
English is widely used as a major language for research writing (Grabe & Kaplan, 1997; Hyland, 2012; Kaplan & Baldauf, 2005). However, not all researchers (particularly non-native English and novice researchers) can use English efficiently for this purpose (Cho, 2004; Flowerdew, 1999). When competing with experienced native English researchers for publication, the non-native English and novice researchers are at a distinct disadvantage (Burrough-Boenisch, 2003). They sometimes feel marginalized from the international academic community. Reasons for non-native English researcher’s feelings of marginalization could be due to: i) writing the research article is linguistically, culturally, and disciplinary specific (Swales, 2004) and / or ii) some researchers might not be familiar with the lexical, grammatical, syntactical, semantic, and pragmatic conventions regarding a research article (Kaplan & Baldauf, 2005).

Longman Academic Writing Series 5: Essays to Research Paper
    (Graphicsite, 2023-05-07) Olivia P. M. Laurena
For English language learners in the university level, their skill in writing is one of the many important skills they need to learn and master, more specifically their academic writing skills. As students’ progress in developing their writing skills, the level of difficulty with regard to vocabulary, writing structures, and the process of writing compositions gets more and more complicated, formal and, in most cases, compositions become much longer. For some English language learners, the degree of difficulty can be doubled when instruction of academic writing is not thorough, detailed, or comprehensive.

Following someone’s page on Facebook has become one of the common things we do, and this author is one several I have been following; Mr.Parin Songpracha. He has been sharing his experiences and updating his fans with new trends and custom in business practice. The 8 Things Super-Performers have in Common is composed for several year from his success and failure experience from the beginning of his career . Over 400 of his writing and share on his fan page, only 64 topics which each has over 100 shares, are selected to be in this book. Personal impression of this book is a mixture of tips and tricks, storytelling of someone who has been through tough times until succeeded and would like to share do’s and don’ts. The book is easy to digest and practical. Anyone who works in organization or when individuals deal with people, this could be useful to reference as guidelines. There is no need to start reading chapter by chapter, it can be read from topic interested. The first jobbers, as well, could benefit from reading several chapters since the junior has fewer years of service. The book is like personal mentor!
