Literature revealed that the majority of older adults possessed a low degree of health literacy, which was connected with ineffective management of health behaviours and these negative consequences. The purpose of this paper is to comprehend the significance of health literacy and clinical practice among elderly patients with chronic renal disease and their caregivers. Chronic kidney disease, health literacy, the significance of health literacy and self-management in chronic kidney disease and their caregivers, use in clinical practice, and a discussion of the outcomes of past studies are discussed. In conclusion, the significance of health literacy is resulting in improved health outcomes.
