dc.descriptionThe handout “English for Ground Service”, is prepared in a way to cover all the contents for Airline Business (BA) major of Suan Dusit University. The purpose of this handout is to be used as teacher’s references, to develop students’ understanding of English for Ground Service and finally students should to be able to communicate. The main intention is to assist students to achieve fluency in English by including updated news, case studies, video clips and listening to encourage students to discuss and understand problems and further perform role plays in order to achieve their confidence in speaking. This handout is divided into 2 parts; covers 15 weeks as follows: Part I-Introduction to English for Ground Services, this includes aviation terminology, airport 3 letters code, airline abbreviations based on ICAO standard, Time zones calculations, Basic ground handling equipment, airline timetable, English for ticketing and reservation. Part II-airport activities which include; departure and arrival service, airport check in, airport Immigration, security, and airport announcements. Hopefully, this handout will provide some benefit and knowledge to the users. Please don’t hesitate if you have any suggestions and comments regarding this handout.
